@RedBox
RedBox Academy was reintroduced as the corporate learning branch of RedBox, focused on delivering tailored training, conferences and capability-building programs for business teams. Although the brand had existed in the past, it lacked a clear audience and positioning in a saturated learning market. This new iteration aimed to consolidate RedBox’s educational offer under a focused, professional, business-oriented identity.
Challenge
How might we design a brand system that feels formal, warm and aligned with RedBox while building trust and credibility with corporate clients and enabling non-designers to scale it across formats?
Approach
My role was to lead the visual development of RedBox Academy, ensuring the brand delivered on its business promise while staying visually and conceptually consistent with the broader RedBox ecosystem.
This required translating the essence of RedBox into a more structured, B2B-ready format, one that retained its human-centered spirit but emphasized clarity, consistency and professional tone. The work built on a broader internal effort to unify RedBox sub-brands through coherent design systems.
Outcome
Although still in early stages, RedBox Academy is now perceived internally as a strong and strategic business pillar. The design system continues to support a wide variety of formats, from sales presentations to training experiences, and creates synergy across consulting and learning teams within the company.
What I Learned
This project sharpened my ability to design with structure and scalability in mind, especially in B2B contexts. It also challenged me to evolve a system from shared brand roots (RedBox and IPC) while giving it its own identity and functional logic, a rewarding exercise in coherence without uniformity.
Process Highlights
Visual identity design
Created a full brand identity using RedBox’s core elements as a base, but reinterpreted through the lens of structured learning. The design language emphasized reliability, warmth and hierarchy.
Tone calibration
Balanced RedBox’s creativity with the expectations of a corporate audience. Every visual and layout choice supported a more formal but still empathetic brand presence.
Design system & scalability
Developed a Figma-based design system using tokens and modular components. Built templates for proposals, credentials, course decks and marketing materials.
Deliverables & Internal empowerment
Produced the website design, mental models for programs, keynote templates and visual tools to support internal teams delivering custom content.
The system was built for non-designers, enabling the Academy team to create consistent materials for courses, events and client-specific programs without relying on external support.
